The 3 sources from which you would draw a hypothesis are the following; The first rule, Disconfirmability: Formulate the hypothesis so that it is disconfirmable. The second rule, Relative Simplicity: The simplest of competing adequate hypotheses is to be preferred. The third rule, Groundedness: Base your hypothesis on as well-established theory as possible.
